Q.Cattle & Beef
What is the difference between Angus and Hereford for small farms?
A.
Black Angus dominate U.S. beef markets — strong marbling, premium pricing, polled (no horns). Herefords are docile, hardy, fertile, and excellent foragers but typically command lower market premiums. Many operations cross the two for a black-baldy phenotype that combines marbling with hybrid vigor.
