How do I convert row crop ground to pasture?
A.
Plant a cover crop or pasture mix in the fall after final harvest, let establish through winter, and graze lightly the first season. Build infrastructure (perimeter fence, water sources, paddock divisions, handling facility). Soil test and lime if needed. Full conversion to productive pasture takes 1-3 seasons depending on soil condition.
