Q.Land Management & Pasture
What is a sacrifice lot and when do I use one?
A.
A sacrifice lot is a small designated area used for confining livestock during wet conditions or short stays — accepting that the lot will be muddy or trampled rather than damaging your good pasture. Used during winter feeding, weather events, or before turnout in spring. Re-seed annually to maintain ground cover.
Livestock-breeds pages cover land management for livestock.
