Q.Soil Health & Amendments
What is the difference between soil pH and soil fertility?
A.
pH measures soil acidity/alkalinity (a single value). Fertility measures plant-available nutrients (multiple values). High fertility doesn't help if pH is wrong — plants can't access nutrients outside their optimal pH range. Adjust pH first, then fertility. They're related but distinct.
Most farm soil problems are pH related, then fertility. Soil tests cover both.
